Most patrons should approach Troy on I-787, but visitors from Washington County, southern Vermont, and the northern Berkshires may find it easier to reach Troy on ordinary surface roads.

I-787 may be reached from Exit 23 of the NYS Thruway, from Exit 7 of I-90, and via its northern terminus in Cohoes.  From I-787, there are two recommended routes.  Do you want the shorter one or the simpler one?

I-787 may be bypassed by use of Route 7, which leads from Exit 7 of the Northway/I-87 to the simpler route.
I-787 may also be bypassed by use of Route 2, which leads from Latham Circle to the Congress Street Bridge.

SIMPLER: This route uses Exit 9E and Route 7.  It is 2 miles long and has four steps.
(It is also useful for a driver using Route 7 to bypass I-787.)

- The off-ramp from Exit 9E merges with Route 7 eastbound (toward Troy).  Keep right.
- On the bridge over the Hudson, take Downtown Troy exit.  Keep left to merge onto 6th Avenue.
- After 7 blocks, turn right on Congress Street.
- After 4 blocks, turn right on 2nd Street.
- The Music Hall is at the corner of State Street & 2nd Street.

SHORTER: This route uses Exit 8 and surface roads.  It is 1.5 miles long and has seven steps.

Driving southbound on I-787, take Exit 8 and turn LEFT at the end of the off-ramp.
Driving north on I-787, take Exit 8 and turn RIGHT at the end of the off-ramp.

After that turn, all drivers will take the same route.  Signs with the Music Hall logo mark some of the path described below.

- From the end of the off-ramp, drive past Hudson Shores Park to a traffic light.
- Turn right onto the Green Island Bridge.
- Turn right at the end of the bridge.  You are now in Troy.
- Continue straight through one traffic light onto 3rd Street.
- After 3 more blocks, turn right on Congress Street.
- After 1 block, turn right on 2nd Street.
- The Music Hall is at the corner of State Street & 2nd Street.

Where can I park?

This set of instructions presumes that you are travelling eastbound on Route 2 in Albany County.

- As you cross the Hudson on Route 2, bear right onto the Front Street off-ramp.
- At the end of the ramp, continue straight ahead.
- After 1 block, turn left on Liberty Street.
- After 2 blocks, turn left on 2nd Street.
- The Music Hall is at the corner of State Street & 2nd Street.

Where can I park?

Parking on the street and in city garages is free after 5 PM and all day on weekends. On weekdays from 8:30AM to 4:30PM, the cost of parking on a street with a parking meter pay station is $1.00 per hour, up to 4 hours max. Parking meters accept cash and credit cards. Please note: Paid parking receipts must be located on the dash board of your vehicle while visiting Troy's Central Business District.

If you cannot locate an on-street parking space or prefer sheltered parking, there are two city-owned parking garages within 3 blocks of the Music Hall:

- One is entered from River Street at State Street.  To reach it, pass the Music Hall on 2nd Street, then turn left on Broadway and left on River Street.  Look on your right after crossing State Street.
- The other is entered from 3rd Street near Riverfront Park.  To reach it, follow the shorter route from above.  The garage entrance is on the left after your turn at the end of the Green Island Bridge.

The Music Hall is located on the upper floors of the Troy Savings Bank building on the corner of State and 2nd Streets in downtown Troy.  When arriving for a concert, please use the main entrance on 2nd Street.

If you are coming to the Music Hall's administrative office or box office during the day, please note that those offices are next door to the Music Hall, on the second floor of the annex building between the Music Hall and E. Stewart Jones' offices. The white door labelled ADMINISTRATION is the one you need, and the path to the office is fully signed.
